Indie-rockers We Are Scientists return to Prague. The energetic duo from New York, known for their infectious energy, distinctive humour and catchy tunes, will play on 9 May 2025 at Café V lese. Tickets for 490,- plus fees from Friday 29 November 2024 10:30 in GoOut.
Vocalist Keith Murray and bassist Chris Cain formed We Are Scientists in 1999 in California. The energy-filled duo has eight albums to their credit. The band scored their first success with their debut album With Love and Squalor (2005), which combines the genres of dance, indie rock and post punk. The band itself is hard to classify in terms of genre, but it is all the more impressive to see with what ease and sophistication they combine seemingly disparate musical genres that work so well under their baton. In addition, Keith and Chris are known for their infectious humour and attitude, which they demonstrate not only in interviews but also in live performances. In 2020, the duo set up their Dumpster Dive stage.
The band released their latest record, Lobes, in January 2023. "It's kind of dancey, but often more mid-tempo than what fans are used to from us. It's got strong melodies, the guitars and synths are still infectious, and the songs still have enough unexpected structures and qualities to make you think about them," the band told Bring The Noise magazine. The proof is in the song Less From You, which the writers say has the ability to wrap the listener around its fingers. "It's a song that a priest would say is dangerously provocative and lustful," adds a humorous Keith.
But We Are Scientists certainly don't stand still. This year they re-released their fourth studio album TV en Français (2013), which celebrated ten years since its release. Now the authors of the hits Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt, After Hours and The Great Escape are heading back to Prague. After a hundred energy-packed Prague shows, the popular duo is heading to the Café V lese club. And after the feedback from fans who had the opportunity to attend their concerts, there is a lot to look forward to. Don't miss a show from the duo who have been drawing inspiration from musical greats such as David Bowie, The Rapture, My Bloody Valentine and Fleetwood Mac for years. Tickets are available for 490,- plus fees from Friday 29 November 2024 10:30 v GoOut.
