Wand formed in late 2013 and immediately set about playing, writing and planning the future of the band - not exactly an easy task for a band starting out in the early part of the second decade of the 21st century. The original line-up - Cory Hanson (guitar, vocals), Lee Landey (bass), Evan Burrows (drums) and Daniel Martens (guitar) - soon recorded Ganglion Reef and caught the attention of GOD? Records, In the Red and Drag City all at once. The deal was made and done: first album on GOD?, second on In the Red and then on Drag City. What was the result?
Years of frantic activity began, almost continuous touring, recording and releasing. Between 2014 and 2017, Wand released four albums - Ganglion Reef, Golem, 1000 Days and Plum. In between, the foursome became a trio and then the lineup expanded to an even five members. Since then, including a pandemic hiatus, they have released two more albums and in 2017 they introduced themselves to the Czech audience. And with their expected seventh full-length album, they will come again at the end of 2024, when they will perform at Café V lese in Vršovice on November 14.
