When Federico was just two years old, a music store clerk told his mother that her son had been blessed with an extraordinary gift. So she signed him up for piano lessons, which he attended every day after school. Then on Sundays, he watched the town orchestra rehearsals with enthusiasm. However, Federico Albanese did not release his first album, The Houseboat and the Moon, until many years later, in 2014. The Italian musician followed up his successful conceptual debut with his second album New Meister (2016), which combines classical music with pop and fresh electronics. The third in the series, By the Deep Sea (2018), however, decided to take a completely different angle.
"I have found that music is such a vehicle that takes you through individual emotions and feelings. It can have positive results - specifically for me, the song Lantern came out of that. But sometimes it's difficult to deal with what's going on in your head. You let it go for a while, and suddenly it's all gone," Federico says of his songwriting process and dealing with his emotions. "I told myself that I'm just going to take all the music I like and make a record out of it. And somehow, mysteriously, it works. Jazz, piano, guitar, clarinet, punk rock, new age - you can find it all in my songs," he says. And he certainly doesn't let up. On February 7, 2025, he will release a brand new album Blackbirds and the Sun of October, which he will also present in our country.
During his lifetime, the Italian composer changed many genres and instruments. He began by playing the piano, but over time he became fascinated by jazz and acquired a clarinet. But when he discovered his love of Green Day and punk rock at the age of 14, he picked up the bass guitar. He was also an avid collector of CDs, from whose diverse range of genres he still draws inspiration today. His music has been heard on television, ballet performances, fashion shows, commercials... and on 11 April 2025, it will also be heard in Prague's Atrium Žižkov! Don't miss the concert of this talented Italian artist, whose extremely sensitive approach to music heals the wounds on the souls of listeners all over the world. Tickets are available at GoOut.net.
