Connor Kelly & The Time Warp bring their genre cocktail to Café V lese
Music that will win you over. Young four-piece talented band Connor Kelly & The Time Warp are heading to Prague. They will delight Czech fans with a genre cocktail of alternative indie, psychedelic rock and elements of Appalachian music on 24th January 2025 at Café V lese. Brothers Ben and Connor Kelly formed the band in 2018. Ben was lying in the grass in California at the time, and it was at that moment that he first heard the song "Things 2 Lose," written by his younger brother Connor in their home town of Knoxville. Although the multi-talented Connor possessed the ability to play most instruments, he knew that Ben had to take the guitar part. And so he did. When he heard the final version of the song, he says he told himself, "I need to go back like the Blue Brothers and just start a band."
The brothers pride themselves on their live performances. "Studio recordings of bands are cool, but then you see them live and it's a completely different experience. That's what stuck in our minds. We want our live shows to be the best we can offer as a band." They describe their sound as indie with elements of psychedelic rock and Appalachian music. But they never had a musical role model, they were inspired by their father who used to play in his own band and take them to gigs. Maybe that's why they like the raw sound of 70s rock and real instruments.
"Having millions of streams on our songs is nice, but it's when people sing our lyrics that gives us the motivation to keep going and putting out new music," Connor told Knox News.
